Citizen's Advisory Committees
The Board of Education may create ad-hoc advisory committees, which may research topics of special interest to the school system. When it establishes an ad-hoc committee, the Board shall provide guidelines for membership, a schedule of meetings, and delineate its responsibilities and authority. All committees created by the Board shall follow the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act.
Committees are expected to report their study and recommendations in writing to the Board of Education through the office of the Superintendent. Additionally, it may be desirable for committees to update the Board periodically. When a committee's final written report has been received, the Board of Education may review it with the committee members in a public meeting. Final action on committee recommendations is at the discretion of the Board of Education.
