Plan books should be in use whenever the teacher is teaching a class. An accurate up-to-date list of class membership with seating plan should be kept in the book. Purpose
The Board of Education recognizes the potential usefulness of effectively implemented written lesson plans, as:
1. A guide for the teacher s classroom instruction;
2. A means for maintaining continuity in daily instruction toward the accomplishment of identified performance objectives and system-wide goals; and
3. As a necessity for effective instruction by substitutes.
Requirements
Written lesson plans will be prepared by the instructional staff. Plans will be available on the teachers desks to insure the effective continuation of the learning process in a teacher s absence. Plans will be available at all times to administrators or curriculum leaders to facilitate substitute service and for purposes of instructional review.
The contents of lesson plans will be consistent with the adopted curriculum performance objectives, i.e. cognitive, affective, psychomotor. The content and detail of such plans are the major responsibility of the teacher under the Principal s supervision.
