Communications with Board of Education

Recognizing and supporting the myriad of frequent opportunity for communication between Board members and staff, official Board of Education communications with staff and their Union and Association representatives shall normally be through the Superintendent of Schools except for Board Committee assignments in negotiations or grievance hearings. 

The following guidelines shall be followed:

A.  Meetings between the Board or Committees of the Board and a staff committee will be arranged by the Superintendent.

B.  Staff requests for meetings with the Board shall be made in writing to the Superintendent who will bring these requests to the attention of the Board.

C.  Issuance of publicity releases and the substance of such releases resulting from such meetings shall be approved by both groups.

D.  If it is deemed desirable to invite representatives from outside either group as observers or consultants, such invitations shall be issued with the advance knowledge of the group concerned and approval of the Board.
